How to avoid drugs abuse among teenagers,
Drug abuse is always a big problem
everywhere, and now it is being more and more serious among teenagers. It is a
worrying condition towards our society. There are two recommendations, which
could be beneficial in helping teenagers to avoid and deal with drug abuses in
order to obtain a more healthy life.
The
first recommendation is that parents should help in combating peer pressure. In
order to avoid the negative effects from peer pressure, parents are recommended
to pursue these two methods. First, parents should communicate with teenagers
regularly to understand their psychological state whether teens are depressed
under peer pressure. Besides, parent should talk with teen about the clear
expectation such as encouraging them to choose “positive” friends when they
were young. The last, parent should know the friends’ parents to let the
teenager know that they are being checked up. This can be done by occasionally
calling friends parents. Parents can also try to make their home an inviting
place for teens. Hence, parents can supervise their teens more easily.
The
second recommendation is schools should enhance the education to prevent drug
abuse among teenagers. Knowledge of drugs is significant for teenagers.
Therefore, school or education authority should take a responsibility for
educating teenagers about drug substances, prevention, and treatment. The
following events can be held in order to catch teenagers’ interests. Holding
talk of ex-drug addict. Adding the moral education to regular lessons. In
addition, schools could hold completions about anti-drugs, such as poster and
slogan competitions. Since there are many teenagers who are taking drug because
of misconception on drug abuse, school education would be an important factor
to connect their misunderstanding.
In
conclusion, by implementing the recommended methods in our society, we can help
reduce the drug abuse among teenagers. We can help teenager to have better
life. And when they grow up, they will be good citizens.
