MOTHERS'S BIBLE

THE STORY OF MOTHERS'S BIBLE
Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors and lawyers and prospered. Some years later, they chatted
after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts they were able
to give their elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

The first said, "I had a big house built for Mama."

The second said, "I had a hundred thousand dollar theater built in the house."

The third said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her."

The fourth said, "You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read anymore because she can't see very well.
I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Bible. It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge
to contribute $100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it
was worth it. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."

The other brothers were impressed.
After the holidays, Mom sent out her Thank You notes.
She wrote: " Milton, the house you built is so huge I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway."

"Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home, I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks."

"Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound. It could hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead. I've lost my hearing and
I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."

"Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious Thank you."

Should a Child Witness Childbirth?

Should a Child Witness Childbirth?

here is the answer.

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very

dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to hold a flashlight high over

her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.

Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked. Heidi pushed and pushed and after

a little while, Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and

spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and

asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed.

Kathleen quickly responded,

'He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place........spank him again!'

If you don't laugh at this one, there's no hope for you.

JOY OF CHRISTMAS

This is a very interesting email that I have received and I would like to share with you all

Once again I want to greet you in the blessed Name of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords - OUR IMMANUEL (=God with us) AND OUR JESUS (= Savior).

It was because God loved the world so very very much (as we learn from John 3:16) that "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, Who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

During the past year I, and no doubt many of you, have had personal trials as well as much saddening news such as Longfellow describes in these words:

"...There is no peace on earth," I said "For hate is strong, and mocks the song of peace on earth good will to men." Have those words ever expressed your frustrations? They have for me.

BUT I would never want to stop with that third verse of his carol for the next verse brings us hope and confidence:

"...God is not dead, nor does He sleep; the wrong shall fail, the right prevail, with peace on earth, good will to men."

We who know Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord can rejoice even when circumstances are rough for "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him..." Romans 8:28

Long ago in the open fields near Bethlehem an angel said to some poor shepherds, "I bring you GOOD NEWS OF GREAT JOY"

May He whose birth brought such great joy to Mary, Joseph, and those shepherds that night now bring GREAT JOY TO YOU THIS CHRISTMAS AND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AHEAD.
