San Francisco Giants Stadium Victory

"When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight
into the city from every side and captured it." Joshua 6:20 NLT

One Friday night 20,000 Chistian teens were in the San Francisco Giants stadium. When they heard the sound of the horns (with loud speakers at top volume) they shouted as loud as they could and jumped and pranced with joy and excitement. And I hoped and prayed that the stadium would not collapse from the strain!

At the event opening and again at the close one might have thought it was July 4th.There was a spectacular exhibition of flashing multi-colored lights, bursts of noise and smoke, giant air-filled streamers, beating of drums, and clapping and shouting youth. Speakers were dynamic, testimonies heart-wrenching, dramatic production fantastic. It was all so very worthwhile. And the clear message that came through to the teens was that you don't have to have sex and do drugs and alcohol to be cool!

"What's so offensive about teens finding hope in God and not in a bed, a bottle, or a pill?"said 18-year-old Charlotte Hamilton, one of the young organizers of the event. It was indeed as TIME magazine described it  a "Lollapalooza for the Lord." I pity the protestors who stood on the street near the main entrance holding a sign that read "Battle Cry leads to hell." Would that their eyes might be opened. Even city officials sought to soften the good influence of this event by imposing a new ordinance against using sound equipment before 10 AM and after 10 PM. But that just gave more good publicity. And the Teenmania event organizers cleverly arranged  for KFAX  local Christian Radio station to broadcast the 9 to 10 AM Sat. service. Thousands of participants took  their radios to sing, and clap, and shout for the Lord even before the amplifiers could be turned on.
